Develop practical welding skills and build confidence in the workshop with our hands-on welding course.
This course is ideal for beginners with little or no prior experience in welding, as well as those who are looking to refresh or advance their skills in a supportive, workshop-based environment. Whether you’re considering a future career in trades, want to upskill for a current job, or simply enjoy working with your hands, this course is designed to give you a solid foundation in welding.
Throughout the course, you’ll be introduced to the essential principles of welding, including common terminology, health and safety practices, and material preparation techniques. You’ll gain hands-on experience using three major welding processes—MIG (Metal Inert Gas), STICK (Shielded Metal Arc), and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas)—and will learn to confidently produce both butt and fillet welds using each of these methods.
Our experienced tutors will guide you step-by-step in a real workshop setting, where approximately 80% of your learning will take place. This emphasis on practical training ensures you’ll leave the course with the skills and confidence to tackle welding tasks in real-world situations.
By the end of the course, you’ll have a strong understanding of welding fundamentals and a portfolio of welds to demonstrate your progress. Whether you’re pursuing further training, entering the workforce, or exploring a new interest, this course offers a great starting point.
*There will be a requirement to wear PPE for Health and Safety reasons.
