Public Transport to WITT

All Citylink Buses are now User Pays

We want to inform you about an important update regarding the Citylink bus services travel to and from WITT.  From 1 January 2025 WITT students catching the bus to and from WITT will have to pay.

To receive the discount, we encourage students to get the Bee Card by applying online [click here] or visiting into one of the locations below:

  • New Plymouth i-SITE in the Puke Ariki Building between 10-5pm week daily
  • Westown New Plymouth at Tranzit, 15 Sunley Street between 8-5pm week days
  • Bell Block Library at 188 Parklands Avenue.  Please check with the library for their hours
  • Waitara Library at 15 Queen Street.  Please check with the library for their hours
  • Stratford Library in Prospero Place 8.30am-5pm Monday to Friday and 9-1pm Saturdays
  • Hāwera i-SITE 55 High Street Hāwera 8.30am-5pm Monday to Friday and 10am-3pm in the weekends
  • Opunake LibraryPlus at 43 Tasmon Street 9-5pm Monday to Friday and 9-12.30pm on Saturda.

The Connector Bus is still free

That's right, WITT students catching the Connector Bus will continue to travel for free by showing the driver their WITT Student ID.  

Secondary School Students, new arrangements

From 1 January there are new arrangements to assist secondary school students studying at WITT and this will be discussed with the students and their schools before the start of the term. In a nutshell, the travel support will be specific to travelling to and from WITT only.

As an example, cash fares are still available however, paying by cash is more expensive.  Therefore the Bee Card will save you money.
