Certificate of Proficiency - The Body 1 (Level 5) - starts 15 July 2025

Exciting Opportunity with Ged Guy. This course includes investigations of both human and other bodies. It partly involves a live model, enabling valuable skills in life drawing, as well as taking a multi-disciplinary approach.

DAD5.004 The Body 1 is part of the Diploma of Arts and Design (Level 5), and is presented at WITT by Senior Lecturer and artist, Ged Guy. Projects involve three-dimensional clay work, wire work, life drawing, and guidance on developing a final project focused on representing the body.

Certificate of Proficiency

This course is an integral part of the Diploma in Arts and Design (Level 5) and includes formal assessment. Successful completion will contribute 15 credits toward the Diploma qualification. In recognition of your achievement, you will also be awarded a Certificate of Proficiency for this course.

On-Campus Attendance

For 17 weeks starting on Tuesday 15 July you’ll join the Diploma in Arts and Design (Level 5) students on campus.  Classes run from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and offer a great opportunity to collaborate, create, and learn in a dynamic studio environment.

Entry Requirements

Students who have already completed the New Zealand Certificate in Arts and Design (Level 4) can enrol directly into this Level 5 course.  New students are encouraged to contact the tutor Ged Guy, or the team from the Art Department to discuss their background, suitability, and any prerequisite knowledge. 

We also welcome mature students and those wishing to study part-time.
