Job Title: Gib Board Plastering Apprentice

Location: Taranaki wide
Employment Type: Full-time Apprenticeship
Reports To: Site Supervisor or Lead Plasterer

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and reliable apprentice to join our plastering team. This is a hands-on role where you'll learn the skills needed to become a qualified plasterer, working on both residential and commercial projects. You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople, learning how to install, stop, and finish gib board to a professional standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with gib board installation, stopping, sanding, and finishing
  • Prepare surfaces and materials for plastering
  • Mix and apply plaster compounds under supervision
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a tidy worksite
  • Follow all health and safety protocols
  • Listen, learn, and ask questions to grow your skills
  • Attend off-site training (as part of the apprenticeship programme)

About you

  • A genuine interest in learning the trade
  • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and must be comfortable with working at heights
  • Willing to follow instructions and work well in a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Must have (or be working toward) a restricted or full driver’s license
