Gain the practical skills and knowledge required to work unsupervised, to construct, repair and install building structures to the level required of a commercially competent carpenter with UCOL's New Zealand Certificate in Carpentry. 

  • All theory taught in block courses alongside practical work
  • Regular site visits by our apprentice managers







This qualification is delivered in partnership with the Universal College of Learning UCOL.


Entry requirements

To be admitted to this programme you must:

• be working in the construction industry as an employee or contractor, AND

• be supervised by someone who has qualifications and/or experience with Licenced Building Practitioner (LBP) and is prepared to support your training,


• have met Academic entry requirements.

Career Options

Graduates of this qualification will be qualified carpenters. They may go on to further roles such as site supervision, project management, contracts management, quantity surveying, business owner, building inspection and assessment, tutor or training advisor
