Gain the practical skills and knowledge required to work unsupervised, to construct, repair and install building structures to the level required of a commercially competent carpenter with UCOL's New Zealand Certificate in Carpentry. 

  • All theory taught in block courses alongside practical work
  • Regular site visits by our apprentice managers







This qualification is delivered in partnership with the Universal College of Learning UCOL.


Entry requirements

  • NCEA Level 2 OR
  • New Zealand Certificate in Construction Trade Skills (Carpentry) (Level 3) OR
  • Equivalent academic achievement
  • Candidates must be employed in the carpentry industry at the time of study and must be supervised by someone willing to support their training.

Career Options

Graduates of this qualification will be qualified carpenters. They may go on to further roles such as site supervision, project management, contracts management, quantity surveying, business owner, building inspection and assessment, tutor or training advisor
