Programme Specific Information
This programme is open entry.
This qualification will allow primary industry workplaces to: recognise the skill development of casual, seasonal, and/or entry level employees, and identify graduates who can demonstrate the required skills and knowledge to contribute safely and effectively in the workplace. Graduates will be capable of working under supervision.
Education Pathway
This qualification is an entry pathway for learners who are seeking employment, or are newly employed, in the primary industries.
This qualification may also lead on to a range of primary sector qualifications at Level 3 including: agriculture, apiculture, equine & racing, horticulture & viticulture, pest control, rural servicing, seafood industry.
Employment/Cultural/Community Pathway
Graduates of this qualification will have the skills and knowledge to obtain entry level roles in the primary sector, for example: farm assistant, turf labourer, orchard worker, harvester, vineyard hand, assistant beekeeper, stable assistant, stud farm hand, store assistant, fish filleter, deckhand, mussel opener.
