Grow Your Expertise in Organic Production
Over the course of a full growing year, you’ll dive into essential topics like soil health, organic nutrient management, and how to meet crop requirements using organic methods. You'll actively grow vegetables, fruit, and herbs, gaining hands-on experience every step of the way.
Learning is:
- delivered face-to-face every Friday 9am-2.30pm
- in a dynamic and practical environment.
- You’ll be guided by experienced tutors and
- supported to apply your learning either on your own property or through a placement with a local organic farm.
This is your opportunity to turn your interest into, impact building real-world capability, in organic production while connecting with like-minded learners and industry professionals.
Graduates from this programme will be able to work in a self-managed capacity and may have some responsibility for the performance of others.

Entry Requirements
Open Entry if the delegated authority at WITT is satisfied that the applicant has the capability to complete the requirements of the programme.
- Literacy - 10 NCEA credits at Level 2 or above
- with 5 credits in reading and writing - Numeracy - 10 NCEA credits at Level 1 or above
Additional Course Related Costs
Closer to the programme starting, learners will receive a list of course materials to purchase. Examples of course materials could include textbooks, stationary, printing; uniforms, personal protective equipment, tools and a laptop.
