WITT is here to stay

‘WITT belongs to Taranaki. Let’s build it together’. That’s the message from WITT’s leaders. A message they want the community to hear and embrace.

“We’ve been heartened by the strong support we’re getting from across the community, as we navigate big changes to government funding and a restructure of the polytech sector,” says WITT Operations Lead Executive Nicola Conley.

“Yes, we are currently reshaping what we do to ensure we are going to best serve this region well into the future as a financially viable and sustainable organisation. Be assured - WITT is here to stay.”

Among the voices of support is Venture Taranaki, one of the local leaders who’ve come together to get behind WITT.

Their recent editorial, widely shared, includes comments like this:

“Let us be clear, WITT is not closing. It remains the largest tertiary education provider in Taranaki and a cornerstone of our region’s future. The region stands behind WITT and our collective energy is now focused on supporting its next chapter,” says Chair of the Taranaki Mayoral Forum, Stratford Mayor Neil Volzke.
