International qualification for beauty ākonga

Congratulations to the seven WITT Te Pūkenga NZ beauty therapy students who all passed the three-day CIDESCO beauty therapy theory and practical exams recently. The internationally recognised qualification is assessed by an external evaluator who said achieving a 100% pass rate is incredible.

“Lisa and team you are amazing, your professionalism and dedication is beyond,” says Anne Lindsay from CIDESCO.

All ākonga who finish the NZ Diploma in Beauty Therapy (Level 5) are eligible to complete the CIDESCO diploma and are encouraged to do so.

“The CIDESCO diploma is the highest level of beauty therapy you can achieve. It is recognised around the world and is sought after by employers,” says WITT Te Pūkenga Beauty Tutor Lisa Carruthers.

Some of the graduating ākonga started at WITT as 3+2 and Trades Academy students attending WITT alongside secondary school.

“I love seeing the journey ākonga make from young school students to stepping out into careers,” says Lisa.

The CIDESCO graduates have all gained local employment.

“I am excited to see where their careers take them and what they achieve,” says Lisa.
