Community Opportunity

Published on

At WITT we often receive great feedback and enquiries from our Taranaki community. This year we’ve used this feedback to develop some free Adult Community Education (ACE) courses that are now available to you.

“Our daily lives are genuinely quite busy, but there’s recognition that many of us want and need continued professional development, or perhaps we are just personally interested in learning new things”, said Nick Kreisler, ACE co-ordinator. “We also have a lot of businesses in Taranaki who are extremely supportive of their staff’s development. These courses are designed to meet these needs”.

Bring your lunch for one of our lunchtime sessions, or attend one of our after 5pm time slots, perhaps one of the courses available would be great for your employees? “Course times and places are flexible and we will work with groups and individuals to meet needs wherever possible, we can come to your community group or business!”, Nick advises.

The courses available for the remainder of this year are just a taster and we will be expanding what we have to offer in 2022, so keep the feedback coming and let us know what you’re looking for?

Our first adult community course which is proving popular is Te Reo & Te Ao Māori. A few classes are starting based in the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce building in central New Plymouth that individuals have signed up for and we are providing professional development for a few of our local business teams. We also have Community Computing starting in October.

Whether you are personally or professionally interested in continuing your development, or an employer focused on supporting your people’s growth, reach out today. Phone 0800 WITT NZ or emailing info@witt.ac.nz. Nick is looking forward to hearing from you.
