Welcome

Thank you for joining us to celebrate the achievements of our graduates.

Graduation is one of the most significant occasions in the academic calendar, recognising the dedication, perseverance, and success of our graduands.

Your presence helps make this milestone even more special, and we are delighted to welcome you to share this important day.

As you gather with us in New Plymouth, we acknowledge Taranaki Maunga and respectfully recognise Te Ātiawa as Mana Whenua, along with all iwi of Taranaki, whose enduring connection to this region continues to shape its identity and heritage.

The whenua that WITT sits on is Parehamore of Ngāti Te Whiti, a Hapu of Te Ātiawa.

To help ensure the ceremony runs smoothly for everyone, please take a moment to review the information below.

Before the ceremony

Please allow plenty of time to arrive, find parking, and be seated before the ceremony begins. Graduands are required to register prior to the ceremony, so early arrival is recommended.

During the ceremony

We kindly ask that guests remain seated for the duration of the ceremony where possible and join us in celebrating each graduate as they cross the stage. 

Please ensure mobile phones are switched to silent before the ceremony begins.

Photography

Guests are welcome to take photos before and after the ceremony. Professional photographers will also be present to capture official graduation moments.

Street Parade at Huatoki Plaza

After the morning ceremony, we gather at Huatoki Plaza, Devon Street for our iconic street parade. All diploma and degree graduands are invited to join in this parade. Whānau and friends celebrate along the sidelines and footpaths. 

Accessibility

If you or anyone in your party requires accessibility support, please let us know ahead of time via our email [email protected] so we can ensure appropriate arrangements are in place.

After the ceremony

At the conclusion of the ceremony, guests are invited to meet their graduates outside the venue to congratulate them and take photographs. 

Please note that there are no refreshments provided on site.
