Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori

12 - 16 September 2022, 9.00am

We're excited to be part of Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori from 12 - 16 September. We will have activities running at our Ngāmotu campus and our Hāwera campus so our entire whānau can be part of Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori. So come along and join us in some of the activities happening below. 


Ngāmotu 

Rāhina - Come join in on the Kahoot quiz and test your knowledge of Māoritanga. Make a team or compete by yourself in Te Kāuta Mezzanine at 12 noon.

Rātū - Grab your popcorn. Catch our short film Tāngaengae followed by a kōrero from one of the stars of the film, and local Māori leader, Aroha Broughton-Pue in Te Piere at 12 noon.

Rāapa - It's activity day! Give poi making and weaving a go, learn about Māori instruments or make your own FREE Māori art prints in Te Kāuta Mezzanine at 12 noon.

Rāpare - He Pikinga Poupou is an iconic Taranaki waiata. Come join us for a fun singing session. Staff and ākonga welcome! Te Piere at 12 noon

Rāmere - Miss the activities on Wednesday? Don't worry! This is your chance to have a go in Te Kāuta Mezzanine at 12 noon. Karawhiua! 

Hāwera

All Hāwera activities will take place at 12 noon at the Hāwera campus.

Rāhina - Join in on the Kahoot quiz hosted by the New Plymouth campus and test your knowledge of Māoritanga. Make a team or compete by yourself.

Rātū - Grab your popcorn. Catch our short film Tāngaengae followed by a Zoom kōrero from one of the stars of the film, and local Māori leader, Aroha Broughton-Pue.

Rāapa - Hāwera Hangi! We'll be having a hangi on campus today, so make sure you bring a big appetite!

Rāpare - Are you a Six60 fan? Want to learn their popular song Pepeha? Come and join Jaz and other students and sing along!

Rāmere - Te Reo Cafe - Fridays are our quietest day on campus, so today we'll have an informal gathering at Study Break Cafe and learn to order drinks in te reo Māori. Grab some fried bread with toppings too.
