100% success

WITT’s nursing students have done it again.

For the second years in succession, every third year nursing student who took the State Final Examination test has passed and can now be registered as nurses.

The 100 per cent pass rate compared with a national success rate of 97.33%. A total of 1311 students sat the test.

Head of Nursing Brian Smith said the results for WITT were exciting, and to record back-to-back 100% success rates was outstanding.

“I also want to acknowledge the support out students have had throughout the year from our stakeholders,” he said.

He said virtually all of the 22 nurses had secured work and he had no reason to think the rest would not also gain employment as a result of obtaining their qualification.

It means WITT will have added 50 nurses to the workforce in the last two years. More than 140 students studied nursing at WITT this year.
