Students enrolling in July will complete year one in early 2020 so that you can start year two with those students who enrolled in the 2019 first intake. Then you will be on track to finish your studies by November, 2021.

Let WITT's industry experienced tutors equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the dynamic and changing environment of business management.

You will develop business knowledge and expertise including a historical perspective of business development in New Zealand and an understanding necessary to implement sustainable business practices. You will gain an understanding of multicultural influences on business operation.

You will gain real-world experience through an internship during your study and you will also be part of a co-operative education project which will see you graduate work-ready and able to make an immediate contribution to the business environment. 

You can choose to specialise in one of the following majors:

  • Accounting
  • Human Resources
  • Operations & Production Management
  • Project Management


Entry requirements

  • NCEA Level 3 comprised of 60 credits at NCEA Level 3 or above and 20 credits at NCEA Level 2 or above and 14 credits each at NCEA Level 3 in three approved subjects; and Literacy (10 credits at NCEA Level 2 or above made up of 5 credits each in reading and writing); and Numeracy (10 credits at NCEA Level 1 or above); or

  • Satisfied the criteria for entrance to a New Zealand University, or an equivalent qualification approved by Department Management; or

  •  If the applicant can provide evidence of equivalence through practical knowledge, life skills, work experience or study they can apply for entry.

  • Evidence of literacy and numeracy will be required and have English language competence to undertake this programme which is taught and assessed in English. Any applicants whose first language is not English may be required to provide evidence of an overall IELTS (Academic) band score of 6.0 or greater (with no score below 5.5 in speaking, reading, writing and listening) or equivalent.


Career Options

On completion of this programme, graduates will have a sound understanding of the dynamic and changing environment in which management takes place; enabling them to apply that knowledge at both operational and strategic levels in a range of industries.

Further study options

Study at postgraduate level. The Bachelor in Applied Management also provides a pathway for those students wishing to pursue study in accounting, accredited by the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) professional bodies.
