Expression of Interest - First Line Management – Tutor  

WITT is a tertiary education organisation that prides itself on its student success and quality learning environments.

We are seeking expressions of interest from those interested in teaching First Line Management, Level 4.  You would be working from the WITT Bell Street campus but may also be expected to travel to deliver courses in other parts of the country.  The successful applicant would be teaching the following courses –

  • Managing business operations
  • Leading effective teams
  • Achieving productivity

You will be part of an energetic, engaging and professional team that will fully support not only the students but also your own development.  You will need to be a highly effective communicator, who is able to support, guide and motivate students in the course of their studies.

Key Tasks for this role include:

  • Academic teaching and assessment
  • Participating in the process of student evaluations, modifying teaching practices where required and continuing the development of new and engaging teaching materials
  • Recognising student support needs and engaging with teams across WITT to create student success. 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a relevant Level 5 management qualification
  • Has a minimum of five years practical industry experience
  • Has excellent communication and delivery skills

Teaching qualifications and/or experience is an advantage but not essential.

Academic Staff Member/Accounting Tutor

We have a vacancy for a full-time permanent accounting tutor to teach on our Business courses.   You will be part of an energetic, engaging and professional team that will fully support not only the students but also your own development.

You would need to be a highly effective communicator, who is able to support, guide and motivate students in the course of their studies.

Key tasks for these roles include

  • Carrying out academic teaching, assessment and research (particularly in Financial Accounting from Fundamentals to Advanced including taxation) abiding by the quality control/assurance policies of WITT.
  • Participating in the process of student evaluations, modifying teaching practices where required and continuing the development of new materials and engaging with teaching tools
  • Participating in quality control of programmes and contributing to the development of new programmes of study
  • Recognising student support needs and engaging with teams across the various departments to create student success
  • Recognising Maori and Pasifika learners’ needs and knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi
  • Recognising international students’ needs and respect for cultural diversities.

You will need

  • Excellent demonstrated Accounting experience
  • Excellent demonstrated hands on practical experience particularly in the use of accounting packages to include Xero and MYOB
  • At least five years’ experience in relevant industrial
  • Ideally a minimum of a NZQA level 8 qualification with a Master’s degree preferred
  • Current CAANZ or CPA membership preferred, or any other equivalent recognised professional memberships
  • Student centric, can do attitude, flexible team player with an extra mile to facilitate and make a lifelong learning experience
