WITT is a great place to work!  On this page, you will see a snapshot of our recent Engagement and Climate Survey results.  We have, over the past three years, improved our Engagement Index score to 75.96% (for comparison, the State Sector score is 69%).  Everyone in the WITT team is committed to year on year improvements in communication, engagement, and outcomes for our learners and our community.

The filling of all staff vacancies is consistent with our hiring policy (link here) (note this is currently under review but much of the information will remain unchanged), and every member of the team goes through the process of interviews, references and police checks.  In this way, we have the time to ensure that you are a fit for us, and we are a fit for you. Carpentry Tutor/Academic Staff Member

WITT is a tertiary education organisation which prides itself on its student success and quality learning environments. Our trade’s team at WITT is a group of skilled tutors who are passionate about their trades and the future of those trades in Taranaki.   

We are looking for someone who is passionate about building and the future of building in Taranaki to join our busy trade’s team at WITT.

The position is for a full time, fixed term carpentry tutor to join our trades teaching team at WITT.   Applicants will need to be a qualified carpenter, with five years’ experience.
 
We are looking for someone who;
•    Has experience as a foreman of a site
•    Has experience running a build from start to finish
•    Enjoys working with a range of ages and skill levels
•    Possess basic computer skills
•    Has a good attitude to Health and Safety in the Workplace.

It is desirable that you would;
•    LBP would be an advantage
•    have experience in a teaching and learning environment and have demonstrated an innovative approach to delivery

Academic Staff Member - NZIHT - Hamilton

The New Zealand Institute of Highway Technology (NZIHT) established in 1992 is a training organisation that delivers across New Zealand and offshore, offering formal block course qualifications from certificate to graduate diploma level and a diverse tailored range of short courses for the engineering, roading, construction and civil industries. 

We are looking for a full time experienced Academic Staff member to join and be part of the NZIHT team at our Hamilton Campus.  

The position is diverse; fast-paced and requires travel across New Zealand delivering courses from the Diploma in Civil Engineering and the Graduate Diploma in Highways.  You will need to be adaptable, experienced in teaching and hold qualifications in Civil Engineering.

The position is responsible for teaching and learning and to ensure all quality academic requirements are met.

Expressions of Interest - Academic Staff Members

WITT is a tertiary education organisation that prides itself on its student success and quality learning environments.

WITT needs causal hourly paid tutors to help deliver courses to the industry in the areas of management, leadership and project management. Ideally, candidates will have a background in industry training and/ or human resource management and development, coupled with experience in managing people, leading teams and projects.

A degree or higher qualification in business management and/or commerce (or related field) is required. Delivery of our industry courses generally comprises both online and face to face delivery approaches.

Candidates must be able to engage with students online and develop resources and materials. Importantly, some delivery may be out of the region, so the ability to conduct workshops off site outside of New Plymouth, and having a current driver’s licence is mandatory. 

It is desirable that you would;

Teaching experience is desirable, but those with appropriate industry experience should also apply
