Current Opportunities

Infrastructure Tutor

This position is based at Bell Street Campus but may teach classes throughout New Zealand. It is a fulltime position.

If you can tick the following boxes we'd love to hear from you 

  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience.
  • Experience with driving and operating a range of infrastructure machinery.
  • Site management experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Be an NZ resident or able to work within and currently residing in NZ.
  • Understanding of the management of health & safety on construction sites.
  • Good knowledge of industry-related regulations and standards.
  • Good knowledge of civil industry products and construction techniques.
  • Ability to complete and verify quality control and assurance activities to ensure students can deliver a quality result.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to a diverse group of people

Previous academic experience would be an advantage we'd also love to see applications from those currently working in the industry who would like to begin an academic career.

Construction Management

Looking for a change in 2021? We’re seeking applications talented people to teach in the area of Construction Management.

This position is based at Bell Street Campus.  You could be full-time position or Casual/Part time options (integrated into your current employment/business).

If you can tick the following boxes we'd love to hear from you  

  • Certified Construction Manager
  • Certified Quantity Surveyor
  • Have experience with training or in an educational setting
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to a diverse group of people
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills will be vital. A tidy and professional appearance will be required at all times.
  • Be prepared to learn new technologies in teaching and learning

Carpentry Tutors

Looking for a change in 2021? We’re seeking applications talented people to teach on our carpentry programmes. 

These positions are based over our Hawera and New Plymouth Campus.  You could be full-time position or Casual/Part time options (integrated into your current employment/business).

  • Trade qualified in Carpentry 
  • Holds an LBP in Carpentry 
  • Residential  building experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to a diverse group of people
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills will be vital. A tidy and professional appearance will be required at all times.
  • Be prepared to learn new technologies in teaching and learning
