Food Safety Certificate in Achievement

Graduates will demonstrate knowledge and skills required within the hospitality industry by national and local regulatory authorities. Upon succesfully completing both courses, graduates receive the Food Safety Certificate in Achievement.

Entry Requirements

There is no entry criteria for this programme.  Entry to the programme will be in order of receipt of enrolment.

Skills you will learn

  • The ability to understand and comply with health and safety legislation, and practice food safety methods to maintain a safe working environment
  • Knowledge of storage and temperature control of food, effective cleaning routines and food contamination hazards and the methods used to control them.

Students must achieve both units to be awarded the Food Safety Certificate of Achievement.

Places are limited and fill up very fast. Payment of $229 for one unit or $458 for both is required before the course commences.

CFS2.001 (NZQA Unit 167)

Food Safety

Unit Standard 167 is for all people working, or preparing to work, in a food business, and includes basic understanding of practices that result in safe food.


CFS3.002 (NZQA Unit 168)

Food Hazards

Unit Standard 168 is a theory based and is designed for all people working, or preparing to work, in a food business.
