New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Level 5)

If you’re employed as an adult educator in an academic or workplace setting, this base qualification will build on your knowledge and skills so that you become proficient in your field of work and can promote equitable outcomes for adult learners.

This one-year part time qualification involves x3 20 credit courses (see below) and is completed through blended learning; a mix of online and face to face sessions. Each course contains two assignments. Enrol in the first course, complete and submit assessments online, then apply for the next course.

Each course beings with an three-hour induction session, followed by weekly (ATT501) or fortnightly (ATT502/ATT503) classes to complement your self-directed learning.

Entry Requirements

  • You need access to a minimum of six adult learners that you are teaching or training in specific knowledge and/or skills.

Further Study Options

 This qualification will prepare you for a career in adult and vocational tertiary teaching and training.
