New Zealand Certificate in Electric Vehicle Automotive Engineering (Level 5)

The demand for technicians with electric vehicle knowledge is increasing. This course is designed to assist in the upskilling of technicians that want to have that extra edge in industry. Come and learn how to diagnose and repair uncommon and complex specialist system faults in electric vehicles.

This programme is designed for experienced automotive engineering technicians who want to work in an advanced technical role,specialising in electric vehicles.

Graduates will be able to work in a range of workplaces that involve advanced diagnostic and repair of electric vehicle faults.

Programme Specific Information:

This course will be delivered as both online night classes and day block courses.

This programme is delivered in partnership with Otago Polytechnic. 

Entry Requirements

You must hold an Automotive Engineering qualification at Level 4 OR provide evidence that you have equivalent skills and knowledge.

If English is not your first language, you must provide:

  • New Zealand University Entrance OR —
  • Overall Academic IELTS 5.5 with no individual band score lower than 5.0 (achieved in one test completed in the last two years), OR —
  • Acceptable alternative evidence of the required IELTS

Additional Expenses

Approximately $1000 to purchase uniform, safety boots, a minimum specification tool kit and a google chromebook as required.
