Qualification overview

This qualification will give those individuals who are employed as chefs in senior positions, a credential that will enhance their employment opportunities in a professional kitchen across the hospitality sector. You will establish standards of professional practice for advanced cookery that can provide customers with confidence in a range of hospitality environments.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Food Preparation and Cooking (Supervision) 8065-04 (equivalent to New Zealand Level 5)

       

Entry requirements

  • WITT’s Diploma in Professional Cookery or NZ Certificate in Cookery (Level 4); or
  • City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering 8065-21; or
  • Successfully completed the City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering 8065-21 as a Full Cost Recovery course prior to acceptance into the programme of study AND at least three (3) years work experience in a commercial kitchen in a supervisory role
  • Equivalent knowledge, skills, work experience or study.
