Qualification overview

This qualification aims to provide students with both theoretical and practical skills necessary to gain employment as an Engineering Technician in the mechanical engineering field. Engineering Technicians are generally involved in design and operations. Dublin Accord signatory (International Recognition). Engineering New Zealand (previously IPENZ)

Entry requirements

  • NCEA Level 2 including at least 12 credits in Maths, or

  • Equivalent knowledge, life skills, work experience or study

Special Admission Criteria

Any applicants whose first language is not English will be required to provide evidence of an overall IELTS (Academic) band score of 6.0 (academic) with no less than 5.5 in any band, or equivalent.
