Qualification overview

Rural workplaces will benefit by having skilled staff who will be able to maintain and improve production through safe and efficient workplace practices. Learners will benefit by having a qualification within a training pathway that recognises progression through the industry, as well as increased skills and knowledge acquisition to enable  improved job performance.

Entry requirements

• National Certificate in Agriculture Level 2; or
• 48 or more credits at NCEA Level 1, with no fewer than 12 credits in each of four subjects; or
• Equivalent NZQF Unit Standards; or
• Equivalent knowledge, life skills, work experience, or study.

Career Options

General Hand, Junior Shepherd, Farm Assistant, or in other similar roles in rural based workplaces.
