WITT's commercial ties firm

WITT council member Daniel Fleming is the new chair of the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce.

He succeeds Sophie Braggins, who stood down after four terms this week.

Daniel, who has been a member of the chamber for five years, will retain his position as a Crown appointed member of the WITT council.

He was appointed in an advisory role in June 2017 and more recently a full member, ironically, succeeding outgoing WITT council member Michael Braggins – Sophie Braggins’ husband.

His election further cements strong links between WITT and the Chamber – its chief executive Arun Chaudhari is a strong supporter of WITT.

Daniel graduated from the Pacific Hotel Management School in Bell Block before moving into the hospitality industry, but earlier, while at New Plymouth Boys High School he studied at WITT on a STAR hospitality course.

He is also a co-owner of the King and Queen Hotel Suites in Central New Plymouth and sits on the BARA (Business and Retail Association) steering committee.
