WITT pop-up wraps up, enrolments still open

WITT turned up in the CBD this month, with the WITT ‘pop-up shop’ on Devon Street offering information and enrolment advice throughout July. While the temporary space will close its doors this Friday, the registry team on campus remain busy with semester two enquiries and enrolments.

WITT's executive director People, Culture and Students, Nicola Conley, says momentum picked up at the pop-up space over the past couple of weeks.

“Having a footprint in the CBD has helped drive interest in WITT’s range of Stand-alone courses as well as full-time programmes starting in July. Enrolments are tracking ahead, with 255 more students enrolled than at the same time last year.”

Judging by enrolment figures, WITT will be turning out a good cohort of qualified Health Assistants and Makeup Artists in 2020. “The New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3) is proving very popular,” Nicola says.

“The New Zealand Certificate in Make Up Artistry (Level 4) is also providing an exciting opportunity for students. We’re seeing a number of students from previous years taking up the opportunity to move to this higher level programme and gain additional skills in makeup and special effects.”

Nicola reminds people that although classes have just started, there are still spaces available.

“Enrolments in our programmes are still open – so it’s not too late!,” she says.

“Even if you’re not sure what you want to do, come and talk to our team. It’s not too late to join us for this semester and get your learning journey underway. Start now, and you could have a new qualification under your belt by the end of the year.”

Public feedback on the pop-up has been positive, with many people taking advantage of the convenient location and hours.

“Being open seven days a week encouraged visitors that may not normally have time to come and see us. Our learners and potential learners are busy, and we always try to be flexible to deliver what they need.”

WITT’s pop-up space will be open on Devon Street until 4pm this Friday, 26 July. The Bell Street office is open Monday to Friday as usual, and the registry team are available on 0800 948 896 or email
