Sleepouts: top workmanship, cut price

If you’re in the market for a non-consented 10m2 single room unit (sleepout), WITT’s construction programme has you covered. Students are putting the finishing touches on two sleepouts that are available to view and purchase now.

WITT Trades Programme Manager Mathew Weel says people can save big on labour costs and secure themselves a sleepout built by students to the New Zealand Building Code, finished to a very high standard thanks to our great construction tutors and industry partners. Three bedroom houses are also available.

“The buildings have been constructed by students who are working alongside fully qualified construction staff members,” he said. 

“For the 3-bedroom homes, the cost is about $1600 a square metre. The average house price is close to $2000 to $2500 a square metre, so that’s a big saving. The price on the sleepouts is also very competitive.”

Both the houses and sleepouts have been constructed on site at WITT’s Bell Street campus and can be transported to your property. TSB Real Estate’s Beau Burmester has kindly offered his services to assist WITT in selling the 3-bedroom homes, and enquiries about the sleepouts can be directed to Mathew Weel.
