Graduation events going ahead

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement that Taranaki will move back to Alert Level 1 tonight, WITT’s Māori Pacific Celebration will be going ahead tomorrow and Graduation (scheduled for Friday 19 February) will also go ahead.

These events will take place with in line with Alert Level 1 guidelines. Now more than ever it’s important to be vigilant, and protecting the health and safety of our whānau and community is critical.

Our team has a strict cleaning schedule in place to make sure our spaces are sanitised and ready for the event. We have systems in place to support contact tracing at the events and will be reminding students, staff and other guests to stay home if they are sick.

If you are planning to attend either event this week, we ask that you:

  • If you are unwell, please stay home. Please reiterate this message to your whānau and other guests.
  • Please scan QR codes when you arrive at the events. Turn on bluetooth in the NZ Covid Tracer App.
  • Please use the sanitiser provided an practice good hand hygiene.

We are committed to putting on safe events where our tauira, whānau and community can come together and celebrate successes. Mauri mahi, mauri ora.

Ngā manaakitanga,

John Snook
Chief Executive
