A few places left- but be quick!

Shoppers at New Plymouth Centre City got a sneak peek of just a few of the things on offer at WITT’s art and media department this year.

Last week WITT art and media tutors decided to take their art to the people and give them a timely reminder of just what courses are on offer this year.

They set up a promotional stall which attracted plenty of attention, as photography tutor  Chris Hill explains:  “We wanted to promote our courses so we  saw our marketing department who suggested we set up a stall at centre City, which we did.

“It  was really more like an information booth, and we handed out pamphlets and lots of information to anyone who asked.’’

All of the courses started on Monday  February 23 and as usual there is plenty on offer, says Chris. “We’ve got the Certificate in Creative Graphics and Creative technologies,  which are both  six-month courses and there are two intakes each year.

“Then there is the two-year Diploma in Creative technologies and the Diploma in Journalism, which are both  12 month courses. ‘’

Chris teaches the ever popular one –year Certificate in Photography and says, as with most of the courses mentioned,  there are a few places still open, but anyone wishing to apply needs to be quick.

“It’s all about filling those last-minute gaps we have in some of the programmes, but time is running out. We’ll take students up to the beginning of March because the first week is an introductory part of the course which can be caught up, but after that it’s getting a bit hard.
