This course is designed for students who wish to learn about Mana Wahine and the traditional art of Māori weaving. Students will learn the various responsibilities that people have within the Māori culture and the roles that each person plays. There is a focus on empowering women and giving them structure within their culture. Students will also gain a practical understanding of traditional Raranga Harakeke art (weaving).
This course can either be offered at the WITT New Plymouth Campus or held at a particular school if there are 10 students or more. Please contact WITT if you would like this course to be run at your school.
