Introduction
WITT offers secondary schools a variety of STAR (Secondary Tertiary Alignment Resource) programmes that fit Ministry of Education criteria. STAR is geared for senior students (year 11 and above).
STAR is a very important part of what WITT offers to our community and we value the input and support from secondary schools in the Taranaki region. These course information pages are intended to be a guide to assist students and STAR Co-ordinators with their selection of STAR courses for the 2013 school year.
Our aim is to accommodate the common requirements of local schools and students. Depending on the number of students, most courses can be tailored to suit your needs. Courses listed are a combination of suggested units that may be either introduced or achieved within the stated duration of the course. An effort has been made to ensure our STAR courses compliment current school subjects, and at the same time provide an excellent insight into what it would be like to study at WITT as a full-time student.
STAR courses are mainly run at our New Plymouth Bell Street Campus, unless special arrangements have been made to hold a course at a particular school. All carpentry courses are run at G&H Training, 135 Breakwater Road, New Plymouth.
We always welcome suggestions for alternative or additional courses.
