Qualification overview

The key objective of Te Tohu Mōhiotanga is to increase oral proficiency in te reo Maori. This is achieved as a result of our wananga learning environment in either an immersion or bi-lingual programme. Included in the qualification is basic knowledge of karakia, ngeri, purakau and waiata indigenous to Taranaki. These not only aid in the acquisition of the language but are best understood, respected and valued when taught and absorbed in our wananga environment.
