Qualification overview
Pokairua Hopuapua Reo has been developed in response to an identified need among graduates of Te Kapunipuni Reo (Certificate in Taranaki Oral Language Level 4) programme for continued development of formal oral language skills. Students will ideally be graduates from that programme however, some new enrolments may be able to demonstrate a sufficient level of language proficiency and awareness to be accepted for entry.
Pokairua Hopuapua Reo is a further extension to this plan that meets two key component areas: high level oral language with a focus on needs of the paepae and knowledge of other tribal histories. The programme will be delivered solely on key marae within the Taranaki iwi catchment which extends from Mokau in the north, to Taipake in the south as well as other Te Ati Iwi in the south.
Entry requirements
Selection will be based on Taranaki whakapapa, reo proficiency, community involvement, ability to attend and skills or experience.

Further study options
Graduates may be able to undertake degree-level study.
