Qualification overview
This National Diploma builds upon performing arts skills that were taught in the National Certificate and has been designed for people following a career which requires significant expertise in Maori Performing Arts. This includes people who are working in accredited training programmes, schools and workplaces. The qualification reflects competence in researching and compiling resource material for teaching Maori Performing Arts and in tutoring waiata, waiata-a-ringa, poi, haka, or whakaraka. Holders of the qualification are able to tutor Maori Performing Arts in a cultural context.

Career Options
Graduates have gone on to further their studies in other disciplines such as Maori language, Hapu and Iwi development, teaching and arts. Not only does Kapa Haka teach the student ;the disciplines of the Maori Performing arts, but also helps build self esteem and confidence, particularly in young Maori.
