Qualification overview

This programme will give you the essential knowledge and skills that are needed to start a career in cheffing, restaurants, catering and fast food operations. You will learn how to cook and prepare in a commercial kitchen and learn all cooking methods, food safety, and essential cooking skills.

Students who complete this course will also receive:
City & Guilds 7066 Certificate in Food Preparation and Culinary Art

Entry requirements

  • A minimum of three years of secondary education; and
  • 48 or more credits at NCEA Level 1, with no fewer than 12 credits in each of four subjects; and/or
  • Equivalent NQF Unit Standards.

Further study options

Graduates can undertake further study towards WITT's Diploma in Professional Cookery.
