Qualification overview

The Certificate in Engineering Technology aims to provide a good grounding in engineering science and technical methods. This Certificate course will give a good foundation for further engineering studies at Level 6 with the New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical & Electrical Strands).

  

Entry requirements

• 48 credits at NCEA Level 1, and must include NCEA Level 1 requirements for Literacy and Numeracy or

• Equivalent NZQF Unit Standards

Career Options

Infrastructure industry employment in roles such as an Engineering Cadet, Worksite Team Leader, Assistant Project Technician.

Further study options

This qualification provides a pathway to New Zealand Diploma in Engineering and most courses can be cross credited. New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical), New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Civil & Electrical Strands) (NZIHT), New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Electrical).
