Qualification overview

The Certificate in Carpentry Skills (offered by G & H Training Ltd under WITT accreditation) is a pre-trade programme which teaches all of the theory knowledge towards the National Certificate in Carpentry (L4).  Graduates can proceed into an apprenticeship to complete the practical elements of the National Certificate on the job.  The students will also gain skills and knowledge that will be useful for any building work.

This qualification is delivered in partnership with G & H Training.

Entry requirements

  • NCEA of 80 credits at Level 1 or more or equivalent; and
  • NCEA minimum of 12 credits in both Mathematics and English or equivalents; or 
  • Completion of an assessment administered by G & H Training Ltd. A minimum pass mark of 50% is required. Exceptions to this requirement will be considered on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by G & H Training.
