Qualification overview

Not confident in using computers and needing to upskill before your new programme starts? The Taranaki Computer Access Centre Trust, supported by WITT, offers the basic digital literacy training you need.

Free training for beginners with a range of options to help people get to grips with new technology. As well as offering general computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Publisher, we provide training in:

Use of the internet and email

This course is for those with some experience of computers and are interested in connecting with friends and family, with an emphasis on communication and using the internet to seek information

Digital photography

For learners who are interested in improving their photographs from their digital devices, and using image editing software to change the appearance of the photos. Learners need to be familiar with computer software programmes but do not need to have much experience with photography.

Introduction to social media

Aimed at learners who already feel comfortable with some technology but are yet to use social media tools.

Introduction to mobile technology

Aimed at learners who own a mobile device either tablet or phone but are not able to use this technology to full advantage.

You can also work towards your International Computer Driver’s Licence.
