Electrical Tutor

We are seeking a fixed-term full-time Electrical Tutor.  You will be part of an energetic, engaging and professional team that will fully support not only the students but also your own development.

Key Tasks for this role include:

  • Academic  teaching and assessment for courses indicated
  • Participating in the process of student evaluations, modifying teaching practices where required and continuing the development of new and engaging teaching materials
  • Recognising student support needs and engaging with teams across WITT to create student success. 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has five years minimum industry experience
  • Must be a registered electrician with EWRB
  • Teaching experience is desirable, but those with appropriate industry experience should also apply

Café Chef

  • Enjoy working with young people and relate well to them?
  • Want to work Mondays-Fridays day time only? No more nights!
  • Want to join a successful and enthusiastic team?

We are seeking a part-time café chef for WITT’s Garage Cafe.  You will be part of an energetic, engaging and professional team that will fully support not only the students but also your own development.

You will prepare quality café food and work alongside our front-of-house tutors guiding students in day-to-day café operations.

We need someone who has

  • Chef qualifications with strengths in food hygiene and safety
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of current industry trends
  • Superb communication skills and an ability to provide leadership to students

Tutor for Tertiary Studies (Level 2)

WITT is a tertiary education organisation which prides itself on its quality learning environment.  We are seeking a tutor for literacy, numeracy, study skills and workplace preparation on our Certificate in Tertiary Studies programme at our Hawera Campus.  You will be part of an energetic, engaging and professional team that will fully support not only the students but also your own development. 

This position will be a full time role on a fixed term contract until December 2016.

Key tasks for this role include

  • Academic  teaching and assessment for courses indicated
  • Participating in the process of student evaluations, modifying teaching practices where required and continuing the development of new and engaging teaching materials
  • Recognising student support needs and engaging with teams across WITT to create student success. 

We are looking for someone who has

  • Ability to relate to and motivate a variety of adult learners
  • A relevant qualification, including NCALNE or similar
  • Prior teaching experience of Achievement Standards is desirable, but not essential

Learning to Employment Manager

WITT is currently recruiting for Learning to Employment Manager.  This is a full-time position.

This position will be an important liaison role between WITT, its students and employers.

Key tasks for this role include:

  • Finding opportunities for our students to gain valuable experience, job placements, internships, mentoring and coaching
  • Working with industry and employer partners to enable them to provide feedback on programmes and how they can be delivered
  • Being responsive to both employer and student needs
  • Promote WITT as the major resource and facilitator of learning to employment in the region

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion for the education opportunities that WITT provides in the Taranaki community
  • Is a highly effective communicator
  • Has a high level of integrity and judgment
  • Is able to negotiate with both external and internal groups
  • Has excellent organisational and time management skills and problem solving skills

Tutors for Bachelor of Applied Management

WITT is currently recruiting hourly paid/part time lecturers/tutors to support our Degree and Graduate Diploma programmes in the following subject areas.

  • Resource Integration Management
  • Industrial Relations
  • Project Management (Preferably with knowledge of PMBOK)

Hours of work are dependent on the number of courses being taught and the study time-table, however would average three teaching hours per week.  These roles would be ideally suited for those working within industry who have some flexibility, or someone with prior experience who would like some part time work. 

We are looking for people who have;

  • at least five years’ work experience specific to one of the relevant fields (as above) and/or hold a Masters in a related area.
  • a background that includes skills in knowledge transfer
