Tutors For Hawera Classes

Share your passion for learning in Hawera

The Western Institute of Technology at Taranaki (WITT) is a tertiary education organisation which prides itself on its quality learning environment. We are excited to be offering courses in Hawera in semester two and are seeking expressions of interest for a  number of fixed-term (July-December 2015), full-time tutor positions for various programmes.  The successful candidates will have industry experience, excellent communication skills and an ability to relate to WITT’s students. Teaching experience is desirable but not essential so those with appropriate industry experience should also apply.

We are seeking tutors for the following courses:

National Certificate in Business Administration and Computing (Level 3)

You will have

  • Demonstrated practical and theoretical up-to-date knowledge of MYOB, Ace Payroll and advanced Microsoft office skills

NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3) Health Assistance Strand

You will have

  • A nursing (RN or EN) qualification
  • At least three years industry experience
  • National Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education (Vocational/Workplace) Level 5

Certificate in Hairdressing (Level 3)

You will have

  • A minimum Level 4 National hairdressing qualification
  • At least seven years industry experience preferred

Certificate in Fashion Make-Up Artistry (Level 3)

You will have

  • At least five years’ experience in the make-up industry including retail or sales
  • Experience at national and regional hair, fashion or make-up events

Certificate in Tertiary Studies (Level 3) – English, Maths and Science

You will have

  • A degree in a relevant subject area
  • Prior teaching experience of Achievement Standards is desirable, but not essential

New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Service (Level 3)

Front of House Tutor

You will have

  • A qualification in food and beverage service with minimum National Level 4 or equivalent qualification
  • At least eight years industry experience

Also needed: Café Chef

This is a non-teaching position but the ability to relate well to students in essential.

You will have

  • Minimum Level 4 or equivalent cookery qualification
  • Knowledge and understanding of current “Food Control Plan” legislation
  • Minimum eight years industry experience
  • Have excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience in menu planning and kitchen budgeting and ordering
