Automotive Tutor - Trades & Fabrication

The Western Institute of Technology at Taranaki (WITT) is a tertiary education organisation which prides itself on its quality learning environment. We are seeking people to join our team to assist in building bright futures for our students.

We currently have a full time fixed-term (February-November 2015) position available for a Tutor to teach in the automotive programmes on WITT's New Plymouth campus.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated practical and theoretical up-to-date knowledge in all aspects of the automotive trade.

We are looking for someone who

  • is a registered New Zealand Automotive Engineer
  • holds a relevant Level 4 or 5 or equivalent qualification
  • has a minimum of five years practical industry experience
  • has a good understanding of modern automotive electronic systems
  • has excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to people of all ages
  • is able to undertake evening work when required
  • teaching qualifications and/or experience is an advantage but not essential

Tutor - Level 3 Culinary Arts

Because of high student enrolment numbers, we currently have a number of fixed-term (February-November/December 2015) positions available in our Hospitality programme.  The successful candidates will work alongside industry leaders as part of an award-winning team.  They will have industry experience, excellent communication skills and an ability to relate to WITT’s students.

We are looking for someone who

  • Qualified chef with minimum National Level 4 or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum eight years industry experience
  • Involves regular day-time weekend teaching.

 

Ability to communicate with and provide leadership to students.

Tutor - Diploma in Professional Cookery (two positions)

Because of high student enrolment numbers, we currently have a number of fixed-term (February-November/December 2015) positions available in our Hospitality programme.  The successful candidates will work alongside industry leaders as part of an award-winning team.  They will have industry experience, excellent communication skills and an ability to relate to WITT’s students.

We are looking for someone who

  • Qualified chef with minimum National Level 4 or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum ten years industry experience
  • International experience is desirable but not essential
  • Rostered Monday-Friday shifts
  • One position requires specialisation in patisserie and the other in hot kitchen/larder
Ability to communicate with and provide leadership to students.

Tutor Support (two positions)

Because of high student enrolment numbers, we currently have a number of fixed-term (February-November/December 2015) positions available in our Hospitality programme.  The successful candidates will work alongside industry leaders as part of an award-winning team.  They will have industry experience, excellent communication skills and an ability to relate to WITT’s students.

We are looking for someone who

  • 28.8 hour per week Monday-Friday
  • Qualified chef with minimum National Level 4 or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum four years industry experience
  • An excellent way to begin gaining experience in teaching

Café Chef

Because of high student enrolment numbers, we currently have a number of fixed-term (February-November/December 2015) positions available in our Hospitality programme.  The successful candidates will work alongside industry leaders as part of an award-winning team.  They will have industry experience, excellent communication skills and an ability to relate to WITT’s students.

We are looking for someone who

  • Preparing quality food to be served in WITT’s Garage Café
  • Qualified chef with strengths in food hygiene and safety
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of current industry trends
  • Negotiable start and finish times Monday-Friday

All must have ability to communicate with and provide leadership to students.
