Orientation 2012 - Feb 20th - 23rd

What is Orientation?

Orientation is designed to prepare you for your time as a student at WITT and ensure you get off to the best start when formal classes begin.

Orientation starts the week prior to course start with our Headstart offerings – workshops designed to give you a head start - then continues in your 1st week on campus with a powhiri (our official welcome to new students), programme start information and a number of fun activities have been planned so be sure to come along, have some fun and get to know other students on campus.

AS A NEW STUDENT YOU NEED TO:

  • ensure you have completed and returned your enrolment form
  • read thoroughly your orientation programme
  •  timetable head start workshops to attend
  • download a class timetable
  • find out where your classes will be held (in particular your 1st class after powhiri)
  • familiarise yourself with class locations using the campus map in your orientation programme or on our website
  • make sure you have applied for a student loan or allowance (if applicable)
  • attend all course start and lunchtime activities

8.15am Assemble between A & B blocks for Powhiri As per your class timetable As per your class timetable

8.30-9.30am Powhiri, F Block      
9.30-10.00am Make your way to your first class. For those unsure, information is available in the cafeteria.      
10.00am First class starts. Know your room number. Refer to timetable on website or contact us 0800WITTWORKS      
12.00-1.00pm "Get Informed" Information stalls on what's on offer to students at WITT  and the community. Free candy floss and mini donuts, Cafeteria

"Get Connected" Free BBQ, volleyball, ping pong, bouncy castle, gyrosphere, xbox kinect, photo booth, Mr. Whippy & more! Don't miss out!!! Cafeteria

 "Speed Friendship" Come meet other students on campus and join the fun! Cafeteria  
1.00pm onwards As per your class timetable
