Applications flying in

Applications for the upcoming courses at WITT are flying in via the internet.

“We have seen an increase in the online applications,” says WITT marketing director Danny Hall. “They are over 20 per cent up on this time last year.”

With that increase in applications through the new-look website comes a timely reminder.

“We recommend anyone interested in studying in 2012 get their applications in now,” says Danny, who is also director of student management services.

“There are limited places and once we have our cap, we may not be able to accept any more.”

He says any student who has been sent a letter of confirmation for a place on a course needs to get back to WITT quickly because enrolments are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

“So they really need to make sure they get those completed forms back to us,” Danny says. “We want to avoid disappointment.”

A number of courses are already nearly full, including the pre-trade electrical, hairdressing, beauty therapy and hospitality qualifications.

Danny says that for other courses, applications will be accepted up the date the new semester begins on February 20, providing there is space available.

There are still places on a number of courses, including: The Level 4 Certificate in Design Drafting (Industrial); Level 5 National Diploma in Journalism (Multi-Media); Level 5 Diploma in Information & Communications Technology; and the new Level 6 diploma of the same title; Level 5 Certificate in Business; Level 4 Certificate in First Line Management (distance learning); Level 2 National Certificate in Computing (online); Certificate in General English (ESOL); Level 5 National Certificate in Adult Literacy & Numeracy Education (Vocational/Workplace); and Level 6 Diploma in Tertiary Learning & Teaching.
